African Diaspora Dance Tonight
|
By the Whitman Events Board
|
Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with a cultural experience honoring the music and dances of the African Diaspora. The African Diaspora Dance event will take place on Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in Reid Campus Center’s Young Ballroom. (Flyer attached.)
The night will feature sounds across hip-hop, Afrobeat, R&B and Amapiano, and a space to appreciate the richness and global impact of Black music and culture.
No dance experience is needed. Come as you are and be ready to move, learn and enjoy. There will be dance demonstrations throughout the event, giving everyone the opportunity to try new styles in a welcoming environment. The evening will also feature a live set by DJ Shanté (also known as DJ Nneek, The Musical Scientist), an emcee and student instructors guiding the experience.
We will also have a photo booth so you can capture the energy of the night. This event is open to everyone, and we look forward to celebrating together.
