Whitties Share Their Wisdom on Student Blogs

As the academic year kicks off, there’s no better time to get to know the incredible students who make Whitman such a vibrant and welcoming place. This semester, we’ll help you experience Whitman and Walla Walla through their eyes in an ongoing series highlighting student stories from our multimedia blog, Student Voices.
Whitties are sharing it all from navigating campus life to mentoring and career prep, learning a new language, sharing fun club activities, living in the interest house community and more!
For example, in this photo blog, Psychology major Gelic Gerona ’27 shares some favorite memories of her sophomore year. The now junior captures everything from campus jobs to WEB events and having fun with her friends (pictured above, enjoying a meal downtown during the winter break)!
Share Your Whittie Wisdom!
All students are welcome to share their Whitman experiences. Staff and faculty are also invited to nominate students. We’d love to partner with various offices across campus to support more student stories. Nominations can be submitted using the Whittie Wisdom Nomination Form.

Emergency Alerts: Were You Notified?
|
Yesterday, several emergency alerts were issued to campus in connection to a gas leak at the construction site. Notifications were sent by email, text, phone call and to the Everbridge app. If you did not receive the test alert on your mobile device, please follow these steps to update your emergency alert information:
|
- Log on to my.whitman.edu.
- Select the “Profile” tab on the left.
- Select “Campus Alerts.”
- Enter or update your information as needed.

Whitman’s Employee Assistance Program, Canopy, is offering a new on-demand webinar titled “Finding Harmony: Being a Parent and a Professional.” The webinar discusses the realities of the modern working landscape for parents and how to find work-life balance.
