Last weekend, more than 450 students and faculty from 31 Pacific Northwest higher education institutions gathered in Vancouver, Washington to present and celebrate science research at the 33rd annual Murdock College Science Research (MCSR) Conference. Co-hosted by the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust and Whitman College, the conference focuses on sharing and advancing new knowledge in the natural sciences.

The conference was an opportunity for universities in the MCSR grant program to send students and faculty to share oral and poster presentations, engage with lectures, and network with peers and faculty. Conference organizers also announced faculty and student award winners from across the region and celebrated scientific research collaboration.

Homo for the Holidays Gathering

Heading home from college can be a mixed bag. While most of us are ready for a break, heading home can mean a return to complicated conversations, political differences and even hidden identities. Homo for the Holidays is a gathering that aims to offer support and strategies for these kinds of challenges. If you’re anxious about heading home, this is for you. If you’ve navigated these challenges and have some insights to share, we’d love to have you too! Join us in the Queer Resource Center (Reid 216) from 4:30–5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
