Today Is the Whitman Undergraduate Conference

Today is the 28th annual Whitman Undergraduate Conference, a celebration of the scholarship, critical thinking, self-driven exploration and creativity of Whitman students.
Built into the academic calendar, all students are released from their regularly scheduled class obligations in order to attend the conference. The conference is a showcase of student-centered research shared via a program of posters, presentations, performances and panel discussions.

Whitman Undergraduate Conference: Block Schedule
|
- 9–10:15 a.m.—Presentations
- 10:15–10:45 a.m.—Break: Musical Performance
- 10:45 a.m. to noon—Presentations
- Noon–1 p.m.—Lunch, Musical/Dance Performance
Lunch buffet will be provided to presenters and attendees at Cleveland Commons.
- 1:15–2:15 p.m.—Poster Session
- 2:15–2:45 p.m.—Break: Musical Performance
- 2:45–4 p.m.—Presentations

ASWC General Election Voting This Week
|
The 2026–2027 general election for the Associated Students of Whitman College (ASWC) takes place this week. Voting is open today through Thursday, April 16. For more information, visit goaswc.org. (Flyer attached.)

Poetry Performance Tonight
|
Actor and storyteller Darius Wallace will perform “Hold Fast to Dreams: The Poetry of Langston Hughes” on Tuesday, April 14, at 7 p.m. in Olin 129. Highlighting the life and poetry of an early 20th-century American poet, playwright and novelist, this free performance is supported by Whitman’s Visiting Educator Program. (Flyer attached.)

Learn More About Whitman Internship Grants

Students, are you thinking about applying for a Whitman Internship Grant (WIG) to fund an otherwise unpaid internship or research experience this summer? Don’t miss the final WIG Information Session of the semester on Thursday, April 16, at 4 p.m. in Reid G02. (Register on Handshake.) Attending a WIG Information Session during the semester you apply is a requirement. Still looking for a WIG-eligible internship? Here are some opportunities to consider.

Earlier this month, MinhThu Tran ’26, a senior Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology major, attended the World Pre-Health Conference at Harvard University and presented a poster about her research at Mayo Clinic last summer.
