Hi, Whittie!

We are so excited to finally have you on campus this coming Fall 2026. (Scroll to the bottom of this email to meet a helpful guide and your new Dean bestie!)

Ready to apply for your housing?! Let’s do this.

First, this is important, because: You need your Whitman account to access the preferences survey and officially apply for housing. In your personal email, look for a message from wctsaccts@whitman.edu with the subject line, “Welcome to Whitman! Set up your account now.”

🏡 Take the Survey
At Whitman, new students are matched with other incoming students to form roommate pairs who live together in a double room their first year.

1. To help us match you with a residence hall and your future roommate, please complete this survey—by June 15. (You can also access it at whitman.erezlife.com.)

2. After logging in with your Whitman account (username and password), select “Apply For Housing” and complete the survey.

Please note: Before you deferred last year, you may have filled out a similar survey. Some of your preferences could have changed, so please complete the survey again.

More About the Survey
You’ll be asked about a variety of preferences, from how late you like to stay up to how tidy you prefer to keep your room. It will help you think about what you’re looking for in a roommate, as well as allow you to indicate which halls you would prefer to live in.

Explore Whitman’s first-year halls. Photos, videos, details, etc.! All four first-year residence halls are great places to live!

In early August, you will receive your room and roommate assignments by both email and in a mailed letter. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at studenthousing@whitman.edu or 509-527-5297. We are happy to talk through the housing process with you.

Why don’t I have the option to choose my own roommate? We match roommates to create a more inclusive community and based on lifestyle habits to help make for a smooth start to college life. You might not live with your best friend right away, but college is about learning and growing. You’ll get the chance to meet someone new, learn from each other and maybe even build a friendship that will last for years to come.
