Whitman Students Lead the State in College Voting Challenge

Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs visited campus last week to recognize Whitman College for achieving the highest student voter turnout in Washington state in the 2024 election cycle, thanks to efforts made by the Whitman Votes club.

Whitman To Welcome New Interfaith Chaplain

Whitman College is pleased to introduce the rev. seigen johnson, who will join campus as the next Interfaith Chaplain and Director of Religious and Spiritual Life later this month.

Alumni Survey Underway

The Alumni Office launched a survey of all alumni on October 1st. If you missed the message in your email, a reminder was sent on October 16th; you can search for a message from noreply @ alchemer.com with a subject line of Whitman Alumni National Survey. The survey will close on October 24th.

Upward Pathway: Mwamba Muntanga ’25: 

Mwamba Muntanga ’25 was the first person from his high school in Zambia to go to college in the U.S. His Whitman journey was marked by a desire to hold the door open for others and take advantage of every opportunity he found here. With the help of the Career and Community Engagement Center, he connected with mentors and found opportunities for internships in the finance industry. See his path.

Fifty under 50: Robert Tonnsen ’00

A degree in Geology from Whitman built the foundation for Rob Tonnsen’s ’00 career. Now retired, Tonnsen’s experiences at Whitman inspired his recent gift to establish two scholarship endowments generously supporting the Upward Together campaign in its final year and helping to provide an enriching educational experience for generations to come. Whitman Athletes Dominate This Fall

Both Men's and Women's Tennis swept their respective ITA Fall Northwest Regional Championships, winning the singles and doubles titles and advancing to the the national ITA Cup in Rome, GA this weekend.

The Interest House Community  gathers once per month at one of the houses for a brunch, and members eat dinner together in their separate houses throughout the week. During the year, all of the houses collectively put on all-campus programs. Hear what each RA has to say about this unique living opportunity.
