Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems Testing

Annual inspections of campus fire alarm systems (smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, horns, strobes) and campus fire suppression systems will take place during the next several weeks.
Fire alarm system testing will begin around 8 a.m. and last from 2–4 hours. During this time, occupants may hear brief intermittent sounding of the audible fire alarm.

Fire suppression systems testing will begin between 7:30–8 a.m. and will proceed from building to building in the order listed. Occupants may hear a brief beep of the fire alarm as each of up to five systems is tested.

Blues Swim Teams Earn Academic Recognition
|
Our men’s and women’s swimming teams have earned the Scholar All-America Team Award from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The women’s team ranked 10th in the nation among Division III schools with a team GPA of 3.76. The men’s team ranked 38th with a team GPA of 3.33.

Economics Professor Publishes Journal Article
|
Assistant Professor of Economics Ruoning Han published an article titled “Deposit Competition and Effectiveness of Bank Capital Requirements” in the North American Journal of Economics and Finance. The paper highlights the importance of deposit competition in evaluating the effectiveness of capital requirements, particularly in contexts when misreporting is a concern.

Whitman employees and their dependents have access to family mental health care support through Brightline, covered by Premera. Brightline offers virtual therapy, psychiatry and coaching to support your kids and teens, group classes, interactive exercises and more.
