Volunteer at Tri-College Community Day

This weekend, hundreds of students from Whitman College, Walla Walla University and Walla Walla Community College, along with the Blue Mountain Volunteer Corps and other community volunteers, will come together for an annual day of service and connection.
Tri-College Community Day will take place on Sunday, April 19, from noon–4 p.m., beginning and ending at Fort Walla Walla Park. A free lunch will be provided to volunteers who sign up in advance. (Flyer attached.)
Community service opportunities include assisting the Frenchtown Historic Foundation with habitat restoration, joining Project Sidewalk on a walking accessibility audit, helping Fort Walla Walla Museum with scanning historic images and light grounds cleanup, and more.
Participation in the event is open to all Walla Walla community members.

The Union-Bulletin recently published its annual “39 Under 39” list—profiles of people who are 39 or younger and who support the Walla Walla community in a variety of ways. Kimball Classics Lecture Tonight
|
The next talk in the Transforming Classics series will take place today at 5:30 p.m. in Hunter Conservatory’s Kimball Theatre. Meghan Henning, a professor at the University of Dayton, will lecture from her book, “Hell Hath No Fury: Gender, Disability and the Invention of Damned Bodies in Early Christian Literature” (Yale University Press, 2021). This event is supported by the Judd D. Kimball Lectureship Endowment in the Classics. (Flyer attached.)

Summer Job Opportunity on Handshake

Are you still looking for summer employment? There are two Summer Youth Arts Assistant positions on Handshake providing support for a summer youth program for children associated with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
