Getting Involved Can Guide Your Career Path

Tayva Anderson hold up a tablet that is displaying a “Borgen Project” event flyer.

When Tayva Anderson ’25 (pictured) came to Whitman, she didn’t know exactly what she wanted to study or what kind of career was in the cards for her, but her time at Whitman helped her discover her true passion.

“My Whitman journey has allowed me to explore my career path, taught me valuable knowledge that I continue to use daily and connected me to a network of alumni who want to see me succeed!” says Anderson. “Wherever life takes me, I know that I can translate all my skills and knowledge I learned at Whitman into whatever comes my way. I couldn’t be more grateful to have found my passion, and it’s all thanks to the many opportunities Whitman College has given me.”

Check out all the ways Anderson got involved on campus and how each experience expanded her resume.

Whitties are sharing it all in Whitman’s multimedia blog, Student Voices. Experience campus and Walla Walla through our students’ eyes! Read their personal stories, passions and perspectives—from navigating campus life to mentoring and career prep, learning a new language, sharing fun club activities, living in the Interest House Community and more.

All students are welcome to share their Whitman experiences. Staff and faculty are also invited to nominate students. We’d love to partner with various offices across campus to support more student stories. Nominations can be submitted using the Whittie Wisdom Nomination Form.
