Inaugural Cohort of Staff Professional Development Fund
|
The recently launched Staff Professional Development Fund provides staff with meaningful learning opportunities that support both individual professional growth and the broader campus community. Participants in this cohort plan to engage in national conferences within their disciplines, in-person and online technical training, leadership development programs, and other professional learning experiences.
Through this initiative, the Office of Human Resources seeks to foster a culture of learning, collaboration and innovation, ensuring that staff development directly supports departmental goals and the mission of the college. As part of the program, each participant will produce a tangible outcome from their experience that will benefit their department or the college as a whole.
We are pleased to announce the inaugural Staff Professional Development Fund cohort (pictured from left with Associate Vice President for Human Resources Erika Cerda Adžemović, third from right):
|
- Cindy Saldaña, Director of Disability Access Services
- Mya Bennett, Appliance Maintenance Technician
- Mathew FaGalde, Boiler Technician and Pool Operator
- Mike Willard, Facilities Services Maintenance Manager
- Derek Mahoney, Director of Facilities Operations
- Sandybel Saucedo, Assistant Academic/Administration Custodial Supervisor
- Logan Higgins, Assistant Registrar
- Jonathan Barnett, Registrar
|
Human Resources is also excited to announce that a second cohort will be offered for the 2026–2027 academic year. Staff members who do not regularly have access to professional development opportunities are especially encouraged to apply. All applicants were funded in this inaugural cohort. Additional details for the next cycle will be announced this summer.
