Taking the Stage as a Non-Theater Major

By Pan Deines ’26

Pan Deines and a fellow actor on stage in a production of “The Winter’s Tale”

I’m not a Theater and Dance major (or even a minor!) at Whitman but I still get to be involved in the performance community on campus. From Musical Theater Project productions, student-led theater and large department shows to a capella groups and an acting class taught in Spanish, I’ve found lots of opportunities to take the stage.

The theater scene at Whitman is a strong, creative community that welcomes students at all levels of experience and all majors—whether you’re interested in acting, directing, costume construction or technical production.
