Celebrate Whitman’s 140th Commencement on Sunday

A graduation cap decorated with beads in the design of the Whitman athletics logo stands out in a crowd of other blue caps

Graduates of the Class of 2026 will soon mark a significant milestone in their lives, crossing the stage in front of Memorial Building at Whitman College’s 140th Commencement Ceremony. On Sunday, May 24, more than 300 scholars majoring in disciplines from across the college’s three academic divisions will graduate from Whitman.

We invite you to join classmates, friends, family, alumni, professors and staff members to celebrate this joyous occasion!

Student Printing Update

As you plan for classes next year, students, faculty and staff should be aware of changes to the college’s printing practices.

As part of efforts to address budget challenges and align with best practices in sustainability, most students will be required to pay for campus printing starting July 1. Students with especially high financial need (about 25% of students, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid) will be provided with a $35 credit for the 2026–2027 academic year to cover the cost of submitting printed assignments. When the $35 is exhausted, these students will also be required to pay for printing. Students who will receive printing funds will be notified at the beginning of the fall semester.

Faculty are encouraged to use textbooks available through the bookstore and make course packs available for other classroom readings. Campus Printing Services in Boyer House will again be able to work with faculty to print materials for students.
